The United States President, Donald Trump on March 21, 2019 declared that the US will recognise Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, a disputed land which Israel captured from Syria in 1967. This decision of the US is expected to give a political boost to Prime Minister Netanyahu a month before his re-election campaign.
